    Design Goddess

This week, The Circle features 20-year-old Fediane Thenoardy, a former student of Raffles Design Institute Kuala Lumpur, who gives us a little insight about herself as she shares with us her many loves in the world of design.

I love art, reading, writing, and designing.  I love colours and appreciate different art forms and the styles they assume. I believe that while creativity is a must for every designer to possess, the idea of a every designer being eco-friendly should be made mandatory.

My ultimate ambition is to become a professional interior designer.

    WORK DESCRIPTION

    3D Max Project - NESALON

As young and sophisticated young women enjoy the services in a salon, they should also be able to soak in a great environment too. NeSalon is a modern salon, that is tastefully designed. It offers a bit of the old and new for a clever, classic juxtaposition that truly works. The vintage feel is lent by the black and white marble tiles and strikingly vibrant red vintage pattern wallpaper. Meanwhile, the modern twist comes from the stark white receptionist table with specially fitted glass lighting above it . The use of red, white, and black makes for a strong and bold colour statement. The shades spell vitality and vigour and quietly tells all that NeSalon is ready to serve its customers.

    Restaurant Project - BIANCONERO

Bianconero is a modern Italian Restaurant and Bar. Bianconero means "White and Black" in Italian. The concept works to combine two different feels in one big space. The bar is in the 'black' zone, while the restaurant is located in the 'white zone'. The two zones have their own intensity of light and different hues. The restaurant area is bright and glamorous; there is a crystal lamp in the centre and white grand piano. At the bar, the lighting is low and warmer; the space is spruced up by blue fiber optic curtains that separate bar from restaurant.

    Residential Project

Based on clients who comprise a father who is a photographer; a mum who's a scriptwriter, and their daughter, an interior design student, I decided to conceptualise and turn this into a "photograph" project.

My subjects, the trio, is in the same zone which is art, and they love it. The house is designed to stimulate their creativity and bring freshness to their mind.

I used photographs that the father had taken himself; for instance, a view of the city in the master bedroom, a self portrait photograph is in the daughter room, and the tree silhouette photograph is in the livingroom.
