Established on 1st April 1974, Foto Shangri-La opened its first retail outlet at Equatorial Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Today, Foto Shangri-La is a retail chain comprising 1 ground floor shop and 4 retail outlets in major shopping complexes in Klang Valley : Plaza Low Yat, Mid Valley Megamall, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, and IKANO Power Centre.

In March 2007, Foto Shangri-La expanded by opening its first Sony Centre at Mid Valley Megamall. This was followed by the successful openings of 3 more Sony Centres in Mines Shopping Fair, Plaza Low Yat, and Bangsar Shopping Centre respectively.

In addition, Foto Shangri-La celebrated its 35^th Anniversary in 2009 with an Anniversary campaign from 1 April to 31 December 2009, offering valued customers with competitive promotions and special offers.

Recognising the use and power of Facebook.com by our valued customers, Foto Shangri-La expanded its reach to our online customers by launching its first Facebook page, Photostylers, in June 2009.  Open to all Facebook users, Photostylers has more than 1,200 fans to-date.
