"Similar to its real life counterpart, races take place on a specified date and you can watch your car participate in the race - LIVE."
Grand Prix Racing Online is a free web-based motor sports management game. Players get the chance to run their own racing team by managing a number of aspects of the team such as hiring drivers and backroom staff, choosing car parts and negotiation with sponsors. Players begin their journey with a basic car and minimal sponsors and work their way up to the big leagues.
The game is divided up into seasons, with one season comprising of 17 races. There are 2 races a week and the season lasts for 9 weeks in total. GRPO is more of a game for casual F1 enthusiasts than for hardcore gamers. Gamers can spend as little as an hour a week on the game and still stay in touch with the competition.
Car Setup & Race Qualification
There are 6 parts of a car that you can set up, these are the Front and Rear Wings, the Engine, Breaks and the Suspension. Each of these parts has a value from 1 to 999, generally, the higher the value the better the car performs, however, this is not always the case. GRPO provides plenty of helpful information on how you can boost the performance of your car and adjust these values to suit your driving style.
The Race Day
Gamers can tune in every Tuesday and Friday at 20:00 CET to watch the race live. Similar to its real life counterpart, races take place on a specified date and you can watch your car participate in the race - LIVE.
Newbie Top Tips
- Remember that 40 is considered ridiculously high for Rookies - therefore don't blame the game if you fail to finish, or need to replace all your parts after just one race.
- Look at the weather - and triple check you are using the correct tyres (use Wet tyres when it's raining!)
- Your driver is the most important factor. Get a good driver with the correct attributes and you will challenge for wins even with a poor car.
- Plan ahead. Sometimes it's better to accept that you won't finish a race instead of go all out and ruin all your parts.
- Save everything. This information will be essential in planning for the next race.
- Don't offer your driver a ridiculous salary. The figure you are offering is per race, therefore anything over $3mil is going to make things difficult.
