Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sdn Bhd has released the 'Wave' - a new smartphone that will feature Samsung's very own operating system (OS), 'Bada', all packed in a sleek, slim gadget with a fully capacitive touch screen.

As the first of its kind to run on the 'Bada' platform, the Wave brings to mind the Android OS, where it also provides an avenue for smartphone users and application developers alike to design and create phone applications most suited to their lifestyle.
The 'Wave' also utilises powerful hardware like 3D Graphics, Flash, multipoint-touch, sensors and motion support as well as an impressive user interface.

Along with the new platform, it also boasts High-Definition Video recording and playback capabilities, a five megapixel digital camera that is able to detect faces and smiles, as well as the new "Super AMOLED" display for crystal clear clarity even under the glaring sun.
Applications for the 'Wave' can be acquired via Samsung Apps, an integrated application store which can be accessed through your computer or the device itself - be it games, navigation, social networking, e-book, health or lifestyle applications.

Managing Director of Samsung Malaysia Electronics, Yu Jai Sul, said that the 'Wave' represents Samsung's goal to deliver rich, exciting smartphone experiences to all users.

"With the launch of the Samsung Wave, Samsung is actively constructing a total eco-system based around the 'Bada' platform, allowing our consumers, developers and operators to experience the freedom of choice that 'Bada' enables.

The Wave retails at RM 1,700 and is available now.
