Michael and Kirk Douglas
With the success of the remake of The Karate Kid, Jaden Smith, offspring of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, has begun to make a name for himself as Daddy's heir-apparent. From Angeline Jolie to Kate Hudson, Hollywood is practically inherited from father to kid. Here are some of the most famous we know!
Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie
Four-time Academy Award nominee Jon Voight has had nothing but a tempestuous and often stormy relationship with daughter Angelina Jolie, but the pair finally fell out when in 2002, Voight said that his daughter had serious mental problems. She eventually reconciled with him a few years back.
Bill Hudson and Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson first shot to fame for her role in 'Almost Famous', where she played a teen groupie to rock band, Rolling Stones. Years later, she would go on to marry rocker of the Black Crowes, Chris Robinson. Perhaps it's no surprise: Her father is American rock singer Bill Hudson.
Francis Ford Coppola and Sofia Coppola
The legendary director once cast daughter Sofia in the third installment of The Godfather, but her performance was heavily panned, leading her to shun acting and go on to follow her fathers footsteps in directing instead. She eventually proved herself, scoring an Academy Award and three Golden Globe nominations for 'Lost in Translation.'
Steve and Liv Tyler
The unlikeliest father-daughter pair ever, the beautiful Liv Tyler is the daughter to Steve Tyler of Aerosmith fame - a resemblance she did not realise until she noticed the similiarities between herself and Steves' other daughter, Mia. Since then, she has gone on to work with her father in numerous times, appearing in his video clips of 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' (the soundtrack to Armageddon, a movie which Liv starred in and Steve sung for) and 'Crazy'.
Ryan O' Neal and Tatum O' Neal
Tatum O' Neal may have disappeared from the spotlight, but her record as the youngest Academy Award winner still stands until today. She won her Oscar when she was just ten, for the 1973 film 'Paper Moon', which starred her father, Ryan O' Neal (who at that time was at the height of his career, flushed from the success of Love Story (1970), for which he was nominated for Best Actor in the Academy Awards). Drugs soon destroyed her personal and professional life, but she has come out strong and has had a string of small but successful guest roles in shows such as Sex and the City.
Lionel and Nicole Ritchie
Perhaps Nicole will never live down her days as one half of the Simple Life tag team, or for her initial fame as socialite Paris Hilton's best friend, but she sure is trying. Having been adopted by Lionel Ritchie when she was just two, she has gone on to launch her own career in fashion, fragrances and everything else... just by being famous for being famous!
John Drew and Drew Barrymore
Perhaps the greatest example of a comeback ever, Drew Barrymore is the daughter to John Drew Barrymore, who was an actor famous for small and critical roles all through the 60s', and she is also the granddaughter of legendary thespian and actor of the early 20's, John Barrymore. Coming from a long line of famous Hollywood actors, Drew was the precocious child star from the classic E.T: Extra Terrestrial, and battled drug and alcohol abuse as early as age eight; she even checked into rehab when she was only 13. Nevertheless, she has resurged to become one of the best actresses of her age, starring in hits like Charlie's Angels and Never Been Kissed. And despite being estranged from her actor father John, Drew Barrymore moved him near her home and paid his medical bills until his death in 2004.
Julio and Enrique Iglesias
Julio Iglesias has crooned his way into the hearts of women since the 60s' and it's no wonder that his son, the absolutely delicious Enrique, would follow suit.
Donald and Kiefer Sutherland
With Kiefer in hit TV series 24 and father Donald in Dirty Sexy Money, the Sutherland father and son duo have cornered the American TV market - and proved that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus
So Miley 'Can't be Tamed', but her father's 'Achy Breaky Heart' may just save the day. The formerly squeaky clean star of Disney is the daughter to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, who is perhaps only known for the catchy earworm, 'Achy Breaky Heart', released in 1992. Can we say she inherited her talent from her father? Sure. We guess.
Kirk and Michael Douglas
Hollywood royalty don't get any better than the Douglases. His father, Kirk, is a Golden Globe winner and star of the classic 1960's movie, Spartacus. Kirk is also number 17 on the American Film Institutes list of greatest male screen legends of all time. Michael has not done too shabbily either - he produced the acclaimed One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, as well as bagged so many awards his mantelpiece would collapse. Oh and he's married to Catherine Zeta Jones.
Martin Sheen and Charlie Sheen
Veteran Hollywood actor Martin fathered five children, all actors, including the notorious womanizer, Charlie Sheen.
Paul McCartney and Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney is best known as a fashion designer in her own right, but she is also the daughter of former Beatle, Paul McCartney. He is a regular on the front row of her shows, and it seems that this daughter-father pair has got it going on.
