Last Sunday saw the local skate community taking part in the Converse Spark platform, which is an extension of the Spark Global campaign. The fast-paced event comprised of a skateboarding competition, music performances and various art related activities, held at Sunway Pyramid's Blue Entrance.

Known for having the knack for supporting the arts, music, and sports scenes, Converse had brought together this campaign, whereby its tagline, "You're On,", "You're Up," and "You're It," was aimed at nurturing creative youths through a serial of events they can participate in. 

Some of the highlights of the event were for sports and skateboarding enthusiasts whereby the competition was divided into categories Under 17 and Open. Local artists were set up with the Playhouse where there was a Chucks design demonstration by GempakStarz artists, mural and graffiti demonstration by Phobiaklik, silk-screen T-shirt printing demonstration, and screenings on the global talents of the 'Spark' campaign.

Music performances from surf-rock band 'Kugiran D'Tepi Pantai', punk bands Corporate Youth and Ben's B*tches, as well as post-punk band Partimelovers took this platform to the next level.
