Stage One of Malaysia's Online Fashion Enrtrepreneurs' Weekend 2010 (MOFEW) is well underway and the competition is proving to be a neck and neck race between blogshop owners to clinch the title of The Malaysia Online Fashion Entrepreneur of 2010.
The 30-day voting period which started from June 1 - 30, had the participating 70 owners garnering support on MOFEW's Facebook. It drew in many customers as well as their family and friends, saying they "like" the particular "shops"
MOFEW participants' finest hours will take place at Mid Valley Convention Centre between August 13 and 15.
The event is the first of its kind that takes blogshops from their virtual existence to a more physical one with fashion shows of real models on the catwalk parading the owners' merchandise rather than just being displayed on pictures confined to individual blogs.
Organised by A&O Brandbuilding Consultants, MOFEW aims to promote entrepreneurship amongst the youth; highlighting their creativity and innovations while helping develop their marketing skills and enhancing other business attributes.
From the initial 70, in Stage Two of the competition, only 25 are still in the running. Now, they are required to photograph their products in a photoshoot. Once again, these blogshops will be judged based on public voting and a panel of judges from Snips Salon, Elizabeth and the organisers themselves.
From this number, eight of the top blogshop owners will get to present their clothes and accessories on stage where one will be selected as the ultimate winner.
