Manchester United owners have given manager Sir Alex Ferguson the green light for one big name signing.

It seems however, that Ferguson is set to make another bid for a fairly young and unknown player.
This player may be young but he has big talent. In fact Anders Lindegaard is tipped to be the next Peter Schmeichel, former goalkeeping legend for the English Club.
Even with big international goalkeeping names like Manuel Neuer and Hugo Lloris, Ferguson has tipped 26-year-old Lindegaard to be the long term successor of current shot stopper, Edwin van der Sar who is approaching the twilight of his career.
Lindegaard, who plays for Norwegian side Aalesunds, seems to be the solution to United's goalkeeping conundrum, as United has just sold Ben Foster to Birmingham for £6 million (RM 30 mill).
Interestingly, the cost to acquire Lindegaard would be £550,000 (RM 2.75 mill), the same amount United paid for Schmeichel when he arrived from Brondby in 1991.
Should the transaction be successful, Ben Amos, who was newly promoted from the reserve team to the main squad, and current second choice, Tomasz Kuszczak, will probably have a hard time vying for the starting job when Van der Sar leaves.
Kuszczak has played some minutes in front of the goal but has not really established himself as the clear successor Van der Sar as he still lacks the consistency and command that is needed.
United has also been linked heavily with rising German star, Mesut Oezil and previously, Dutch star Wesley Sneidjer.
Oezil, who made a name for himself during the World Cup, would give United another dimension of speed in midfield, something that they have been missing since Christiano Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid.
Oezil's manager has said that the star is willing to entertain offers and has since been linked to a number of big clubs like Real Madrid and Chelsea.
