The Tune Group continues to blaze ahead with 'Tune Raya Takaful', an insurance plan that will give you the protection you need, when you need it most.

The long journey home to your 'kampung' can be a long and treacherous one; with reports from all sides about the rise of road accidents and home break-ins during the festive season, it has become more important than ever to have peace of mind during joyous times.

Tune Money, the one-stop online financial services company belonging to the Tune Group, has launched Tune Raya Takaful, an affordable and short-term insurance plan that ensures your family's interests during this Raya period.

The reason behind this is simple: To give consumers what they need most, when they need it most at an affordable price.

"The festive season is both joyous and happy, but it can be a source of misery for some families who lose their loved ones in fatal road accidents or suffer permanent disablement.," said Chief Executive Officer of Tune Money Sdn. Bhd. Joyce Lai. "It is out of this sense of responsibility that we've come up with this product."

Provided by Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful Berhad (HLTM Takaful), Tune Raya Takaful gives protection against death and permanent disablement due to accidents that occur within the allotted insurance coverage period.

"We're starting off with this Raya period because you know what the government always says: 'Road accidents are highest during festive seasons, and your home is more vulnerable to break-ins too," said KP Wong, Head of Insurance, Tune Money Sdn. Bhd. "We then came up with a pretty simple takaful package that automatically address the needs of those going home for Raya - something so simple and affordable that one doesn't have to think twice about it."

There are three different tiers to the insurance package: RM 10 (Scheme 1 for 15 days), RM 20 (Scheme 2 for 30 days) and RM 30 (Scheme 3 for 45 days). Each tier covers two adults and three children for RM 10,000 per adult and RM 5,000 per child should the worst happen, as well as insure their home for up to RM 4000 (varies according to Scheme 1, 2 or 3).

"Tune Raya Takaful is an education about insurance - a bite-sized and simple-to-understand insurance package that is also affordable. Generally, the public is wary of insurance, but we're hoping to change minds with Tune Raya," said Wong.
And another barrier to educating the public (the youth especially) about insurance is to get the young to come around to seeing it as an investment.
"Think about it: A cup of designer coffee costs you RM 15. Why not insure yourself for RM 10? It is about getting the people to come around to knowing that insurance is not an unnecessary expenditure, but an investment to have something to fall back on in times of trouble."
With Tune Raya, Wong hopes to educate the public slowly and in 'manageable sizes' on the importance of insurance.

"Anyone of any age or religion can take up this insurance packages - although it is themed to Raya, it is not limited to Muslims only," says Wong. "It is, however, available only for a limited time - those interested only need to log on to www.tunemoney.com to sign up and make the payment from now until September 15. The period in which you can apple for coverage is until October 31."
