The 8TV Twisties Bingit auditions made its journey to East Malaysia last week. The auditions were an effort to search for talented individuals to form a band through the hottest battle of the bands competition. This time the venue was Giant Putatan, Kota Kinabalu and Boulevard Mall, Kuching.
We were there, and some of the performances really blew our minds away; they were seriously good! Of course, there were also those who didn’t make the grade; far from it, they seemed to provide comic relief with their antics and musical instrument in hand.
Amidst the fierce competition, there were tears of joy and sadness when some bands were actually broken up as certain members were selected and the others rejected.
All in all, it was a good outing for us. We left the auditions later that evening, thoroughly entertained and admiring the level of confidence the participants had.
Those interested in trying out for the auditions can still do so this Saturday. Between 9am and 5pm, the 8TV team will be conducting the next audition session at Siar Kaki, Bangunan Yayasan Selangor: This would be the walkway in front of Maybank in Jalan Bukit Bintang.
Bring your game on! Let’s show them what you have in store!

Interested in becoming an 8TV Quickie Show host? Look out for the auditions currently taking place. And while you’re at it, pick up Malaysian Today and go through our content with a fine toothcomb, as questions on the paper’s content may be asked!
Those who were at The Curve last weekend for one thing or another, may have stumbled upon a camera crew at Laundry. The team was there to film the 8TV Quickie Search Interview sessions.
The purpose of their being there was none other than to scout for potentials to be part of The Quickie show’s hosting team. Many were of course vying for that spot in the limelight where the individual will get to sign a contract with 8TV and be on his or her way to almost overnight fame.
Malaysian Today was there during the interviews and saw Prem, who is currently one of the hosts, chatting with some of the nervous applicants, trying to put them at ease with his light hearted banter. “I think we have been lucky today, seeing it’s the first venue. We have interviewed several candidates and can say we’ve came across many prospective talents,” he said when we managed to pull him aside for a quick word.
Applicants were asked tough questions and encouraged to discuss various topics printed in our paper.
Here’s a tip from the 8TV team to those who are interested in applying for the position; make sure you grab a copy of Malaysian Today and have a quick read to prepare yourselves for some questions which might be related to Malaysian Today’s contents.
Now, if you were not there last week, do not worry as there are five other locations in total. The next auditions will be held at LimKokWing University on October 16 from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.
If you think you’ve got what it takes to be the fresh face of The Quickie Show, prep yourself up and head on over to the venue this Friday.
